Sep 21, 2019 - Actor and UCB improviser Tony Garbanzos tells me all about pretending to be a Power Ranger as a kid, later diving into acting classes at community college, and then later joining up with the all Asian American male comedy group, Miss Golightly. Life has been a journey for Tony, but there’s no doubt that performing and being creative has always been a big part of who he is. For one thing, Tony didn’t last particularly long as an electrical engineering major in college!

Sep 15, 2019 - Celebrating and recording this one on her birthday, high energy actress, comedian, and yoga teacher Rasika Mathur tells me all about growing up in Houston, TX, her journey to Los Angeles, and her love for one particular performer, who’s a legend... That’s the one and only Robin Williams, who we lost from this world way too soon. One of my all time favorites too of course.

Remember, Miami, OK is pronounced "My-am-a."

34. Myra Flynn Loves Singer-Songwriter, Erykah Badu

Aug 18, 2019 - With Irish influences coming from her dad and soul influences from her mom, classically-trained pianist and singer/songwriter, Myra Flynn has always had a sense of herself and the eclectic sounds that inspire her. Myra (currently pregnant with her first child!), is a true-to-herself, DIY artist, and is thankful for everyone who has helped her get to where she is today. Aug 4, 2019 - Former Major League baseball pitcher Scott Rice was a 1st Round draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles in 1999... But he didn’t make his Major League debut until 2013 with the New York Mets. Scott’s story is an epic, amazing journey filled with many ups and downs. But it's also one of joy, happiness, and dreams coming true. To describe it as a tragedy when Scott passed away in 2013 way too soon at age 29 from Colon cancer will always be an understatement... But Scott didn’t leave this world without making a profound impact on all those who crossed his path, including Karen. He always lit up the room with his presence, and his music too. This is quite the personal and candid interview.

28. Avra Friedman Loves Actor, Comedian, Writer, Kristen Wiig

Jul 7, 2019 - Today comedian, writer, and actor, Avra Friedman joins me. This fast talking lady is certainly a character, but how many characters is she exactly?... I'm not quite sure. Avra's been on TV and she’s opened for Tim Allen. But before then, she grew up on Saturday Night Live, and her favorite has always been the hilarious Kristen Wiig. Pretty much then and there is when Satya knew she wanted performing and entertaining to be part of her life. Originally from Newark, NJ, now doing his thing out here in Los Angeles, Sean has been a DJ and has been making music since he was single digits years old. Now some moms are known as "soccer moms"... But Sean's mother, Monique… I’d call her um, a "DJ Mom." Throughout his pre-teen and teen years, Sean was something of prodigy in the NY/NY/Philly area, and right there driving him, his crew, and his gear to professional to gig after gig, was his mom. During the interview, he tells me all about how he came to the realization that even though he was innocent of what he was accused of, prison was exactly where he needed to be at the time. Without self help therapy, and without his family, it's doubtful Cesar would be the man he is today -- a man who actually goes back to the prisons to visit others to help them turn their lives around. Wanting to surprise me with his subject matter, Risto kinda went outside the box with this one, as we discuss his adolescent years living in the African country of Zambia after his father took a job there. Adjusting and learning a new language was hard, but after Risto discovered how to bond with the other kids over Star Wars, I suppose the rest is history. Risto’s experience living in Zambia and meeting the people there truly helped him learn how to be able to adapt and adjust to whatever life throws his way in his adult life. This one was a fun conversation.
